At school in my class we are writing a persuasive piece about using less plastic. Through that I have learned about plastic:   There is more plastic in the ocean than fish. Plastic can't decompose easily. Plastic can end up harming us. WOW! I know this is crazy! We have to do something about it.     

Lights are a big part of our everyday lives. As you read this there probably is a light on in the room that you are in. But remember to always turn them off if you walk out of a room. Lights produce a greenhouse gas called carbon dioxide.  One of the best things to help the environment is to is plant a tree. Trees create oxygen and also "breath" in the carbon dioxide that we breath out.   Climate change is a long term period when nature patterns (like temperatures) change dramatically. In Scotland protesters marched demanding world leaders to take big steps to fight climate change.  Officials made several goals that included figuring out how to limit the rise in global temperatures to 1.5°C above pre industrial levels. Any higher, scientists say, and the world will see a sharp increase in natural disasters. In Scotland protesters marched demanding world leaders to take big steps to fight climate change. Executives want to limit the amount of methane (a planet warming gas) by 30% in the next decade. Hope that they make this goal!

 Picking up liter is important. If you don't pick it up and throw it away it will blow into rivers and lakes and then end up in the ocean. Once it is in the ocean, sea life can mistake it for  food and eat it. Another thing that could happen once it goes into the ocean is birds that eat fish can get a six pack holder stuck around it's beak.                                              Stay green,                                                       The Green Team
